Sometimes there is more to be found at a networking resource then first meets the eyes. A good example of this can be found at most Chambers of Commerce. In addition to what first meets the eyes, most Chambers have specialized committees or events that offer a world of networking opportunities within themselves. In some cases, depending on what you’re looking for, these sub-committees or events can be the best part of the chamber.

The Santa Clarita Valley Film and Entertainment Bureau ( or was formed as the name implies, to promote the film and entertainment industries in and around the Santa Clarita Valley. If you’re in the "Biz" or want to do business with companies that are, then this is the area group of the Chamber to be involved with.

In July, the Santa Clarita Valley Film and Entertainment Bureau held a mixer at the word famous Piru Mansion ( With the Mansion as an added draw, this mixer was a hit. Lots of networking was going on. Not just the in-front-of-the-camera businesses but all the other stuff. From makeup artist to computer resellers, all making strong Networking Connections.

So, when it comes to your local Chamber, don’t forget to take a second look. You just may discover a star!
