The HP CD Writer Plus M820e Drive is a great and easy to use drive. This unit is so nice that the hardest part of this review is going to be: Do I keep it short and just say “It’s great, go buy one... Or do I take more space to extol it’s virtues?

First, this is a portable unit. So if you:

· Have a Lap Top Computer

· Have more then one computer

· Move information between computers

Then this is the unit to look at. It is very compact. In fact, it is about the size and weight of a portable CD-Player. So it takes up no room at in the computer bag. However if room is tight, the unit comes with it’s own case. The unit comes complete with all needed software, a PC-Card SCSI Adapter, and to get you started some blank CD-R and CD-RW disks (don’t you just hate getting a new toy, only to have to run back to the store to get the stuff you need to use it. With this unit, you’re ready to go!)

Not only ready to go. But EASY to go. I set this unit up on three different Lap Tops. All went without any problems at all. Not a hitch not a glitch. Just as it should be. Plug it in. Turn on the power. Load the software. And Bingo! Your burning baby!

The included software was so easy to use I did not even need to think about looking in the manual. Boy, it sure is great to find a product that works right and easy the first time.

No running to the store for adapters. No rereading over and over again of the manual. No calls to tech support. Just the fun and plusher of burning my own CD’s!

Personally, I am always losing and/or damaging program discs. So with this unit I can burn a working copy of my software, and put the original away in a safe place.
