CASIO is back in the phone game, and is doing it right!
One of the first new Home Office/ Small Office units BizNet OnLine
Magazine is taking a look at is CASIO PHONEMATE'S Model MA-240.
This is a Digital 2-Line Multiple-Handset Cordless Telephone System with
Type II Call Waiting and Caller ID. Now
you’re confused. |
Let’s put it this way.
This is a cordless phone... But it is not just another run of the mill
cordless phone. To start, you plug
the “Base Unit” into your existing phone lines.
Yes phone lines... This unit can handle up to two phone lines.
You then go to anyplace (within range) you want the Handset (phone) to
be. The garage, bedroom, bathroom,
anyplace you want the phone. Even
if you don’t have a phone jack in that room.
You just plug the very small charger base into a wall outlet; place the
Handset in it, and bingo... You just installed a two line phone were you had no
phone jack.
Need another two-line phone in another place.
Plug in another Handset. Bingo,
you just installed another two-line phone.
Need another? Do
the same thing.... This unit will
handle up to 12, that’s right 12 Handsets...
Beats the daylight out of buying a bunch of separate Cordless phones...
Why???? Because the Casio Handsets
don’t care what base they go into. Just
place any Handset into any charger base. No
coding to get mixed up, because you only have one base station for up to 12
Handsets.
This unit has all the bells and whistles you could ask for.
Caller ID, (along with Call Waiting Caller ID).
It is a digital unit working at 900 MHz (English translation: It has a
strong signal and good range. The
“Digital” part helps keep your private conversation private).
On using this unit, the range and clarity was as good as I
have seen.
So, just why would you want a cordless two line phone system
over a “hard” wired system? Hey
if you have phone jacks every place you need them, and you don’t need to walk
around with the phone, then who needs cordless....
But if you don’t have those phone jacks everywhere, and don’t like
the idea of paying the phone company almost $100.00 per hour to put them in.....
Then go cordless.
