Hey You Got That Guys Number?

Playing With The

How many times have you said "I wish I had so and so's phone number, or "Darn, I can't remember my next appointment's address"?

I too need quick access to phone numbers, addresses and meeting information when I'm out of the office, but all that information is stored in my PC!

I've been looking for a solution for a long time now. Most electronic devices are smaller than a breadbox but larger than older versions of cellphones. I'm into minimalization. I've gone from a shopping-bag-size purse to a 5x8" shoulder strap purse. I carry my cellphone and pager in another very small case with a shoulder strap.

I begged and I wished, find me something that I can slip into my pocket or purse. My colleague has a beeper on his belt and a carphone in his pocket, but also needed a pocket-sized organizer. I wished for both of us!

We both have tried other "portable" organizers, but they are too bulky, too big for us and we wind up leaving them at the office. Why bother?

My wish list went something like this: It has to be SMALL, it has to be LIGHTWEIGHT, I have to be able to READ it, it has to be EASY to download.

Was I wishing for too much? It seemed so.

But then ALONG CAME REX… The Best Little Handheld on The Market, and I do mean little. But mighty! It stores up to 6,000 entries.

It has easy download access from my desktop. Its size is very small - only the size of a business card, about 3 business cards thick! and, it hardly weighs a thing 1.4 oz (I can mail it for only 55cents)! IT'S SIZE ALONE RATES IT A BizNet BUY.

Yes there are a few things it doesn't have, but no big deal when you consider it's great positives.

I've been using it for over a year now, and switched to the REX PRO 2 months ago (finally I can change someone's phone number on the go with their new EDIT feature). I have downloaded 1,926 names with addresses, phone numbers (home & business) my entire calendar through February 2001, and 82 to-do's on my list of things to do this month. And there's plenty of room for more.

  1. We give it one YES for a good, indispensable feature!
  2. We give it two YES, YES for a very good, indispensable feature!!
  3. We give it three YES, YES, YES for a great, indispensable feature!!!

YES, YES, YES - What more is there to say?

Enter and Edit Data-
  • Easily update schedules, revise contact information or add to-do items. Two-way synchronization keeps your REX and your PC up-to-date.
  • Use your desktop or laptop to enter and manage organizer data, synchronize it with REX PRO and then view it anytime, anywhere!
  • UPDATES - YES, YES, YES
    Synchronization is a SLAM-DUNK!
  • EDIT DATA - YES, a good idea, but cumbersome and painstakingly slow… but at last it can be done! A small trade off for such a tiny, powerful tool!
  • Honestly, I'd rather wait until I get back to the office and enter information directly into my desktop organizer (PIM)* then download. (I use ACT! 4.0 with the RexPro, and it is terrific.)
