Hay, You Sold It To Him, So I’m Suing You! If You Want To Stop A Bad Law, Read This Story! Editorial by Mike Lipshultz |

Could you imagine if you were the owner of a hardware store
and you were getting sued because the jerk you sold a screw driver to, used it
to force open a lock, and commit a burglary!
Or better yet, you sold the screwdriver to a good customer,
on the way home, the customer stops to put gas in the car.
When he goes into pay, his car is stolen.
The car thief finds the screwdriver and uses it to commit burglary.
Or when committing the burglary he stabs someone with it.
And you get sued! Why?
Because you’re the person that sold it at retail.
And after all anyone knows that screwdrivers are used in crimes, and that
good folks have been stabbed and killed by screwdrivers.
So, it is your fault for selling it.
So both you and the manufacture are getting sued by the family of the
victim.
You Sir, Are A No Good Lousy Screwdriver Dealer, And You
Should Be Run Out Of Town!
Sounds like a bad joke.
Like just another example of those money hungry lawyers gone crazy!
Will not exactly as crazy as you may think.
If you replace “Screwdriver” with gun, then it is a sad reality.
Just because a company lawfully made the gun, and it was lawfully sold at
retail, and then someone stole it, and killed someone, the manufacture and
retailer gets sued.
Now because guns are an emotionally hot item, some of you may
think “good, lets wipe out all those gun folks”. But be warned. If
you can legally and successfully sue a manufacture and retailer over the lawful
manufacturing and purchase of one type of goods, it is only a matter of time
before it applies to all goods, and the “screwdriver” law suit really
happens.
That is why, Pro-gun or Ant-gun you need to know about Senate
bill 659. This bill protects
firearms manufactures and dealer from being sued should someone commit a
criminal act with their goods. It
does not protect the dealers and manufactures if they break the law or are
involved with defective goods.
BizNet asks every business owner to back this bill.
It is simply good for businesses to watch out for each other, after all
next time it could be your lawful business they are coming after.
Should we sue the car dealer for selling the get away car?
The gas station for selling the fuel used in the get away car? The tire
company for supplying the tires used on the get away car?
The mechanic that made it run faster?
The glass company that made the windshield?
I hope you get the point!
