Is That A Police Car In You Pocket?

Two Way Paging Continued

Last month we introduced you to the world of two way paging, and the fact that it is the best part of the paging world.  We talked about one pager in particular.  The Rim 950 from

To understand the power of the RIM 950 you need to remember that the RIM is running on a 32 bit Intel386 microprocessor.  Big deal... A 386... That’s such an old processor... etc...  Hay think again...  It’s the power of a 386 in a PAGER!  In your pocket.  Think about it.  Old 386 computers could and can do a lot.  Now start thinking of a tiny pocket sized one.  Starts to get interesting.......

Talking about interesting.  A company called Paradigm4 has taken the Rim 950 and turned it into a Mobile Police Computer.  I know you have seen the Police use mobile terminals before.  You know the computer looking things mounted in the front seat area.  The Police can do things like run a Drivers License on it.  Or check to see if a car is stolen, or get the complete record of a bad guy.  Now, they don’t need that big old terminal in their car.  They don’t even need the car.  Thanks to Paradigm4 they can do it all on a RIM 950 pager.  Think about it.  If I was a cop I would love this.  I don’t have to be in my car to get help, run searches etc....  I can be on foot patrol, bike patrol, or stuck in a dangerous situation, cut off from my patrol car...  But I have my pager on my belt....

Now think about how you and your business could use a pager this powerful.  Need to fax document to a client. Do it from your pager.  Need to E-Mail or respond to an E-Mail, do it from your pager.  Need to deliver a short voice message to a client.  Do It from your pager.  Just about anything you can do with your E-Mail (except attachments) you can do on a RIM 950, and more.

So, before you buy any pager check out the Rim 950.  In fact you may even find that you do not even need a Cell Phone.
