Got A New
Computer? Oh, Joy, Now You
Get To Spend Days Setting It Up! Edited By Mike
Lipshultz |
Lets face it, getting a new computer is a double edge
sward. You get the latest or
greatest computer, or at least better then what you had…. But know you have to
not only get all your data off your old computer and onto your new computer.
Along with all your software.
Oh, and lets not forget about all your personal settings!
Good Grief!!! It
is going to take you days! Or is
it. Well I got this press release
reminding me about LapLink Software can do for folks.
It was so to the point that I’m just going to basically reprinting it
below. So do your self a big favor
and read on. And when you are done
you will learn why if your buying a new computer for yourself or as a gift,
don’t forget to pick up a copy of LapLink’s PC Mover!
Oh, and not only have “we” used it around here,
we gave it the A-O.K. Award!
The
A-O.K. Award is awarded to products or services that are just that: A- O.K.. So,
what makes them A-O.K.? Easy they just simply have to do exactly what they claim
to do, and be easy to use! Now if your thinking, come on, any thing can win an
A-O.K., award, then think again. When was the last time you paid good money only
to find out the damn thing won’t do what it claimed, or you had to spend six
days on the phone with tech support to get it to work. Makes you want to kill
someone! So, it really is nice when you pay your money and you get an A-O.K.
product!
A
New PC is a Terrible Holiday Gift without PCmover®
A
new computer can ruin the holidays because of the hassle in setting it up, even
to the point some consumers may delay their purchase.
BELLEVUE,
Wash. Dec. 21, 2011 - It is the peak of the PC buying season with many being purchased as
gifts. Some shoppers, however, may not realize the complications their good
intentions will cause the person receiving the new PC if it is given without Laplink
Software's PCmover®.
The
problem is rooted in setting up the new PC. Most consumers are used to their old
PC’s personality and don’t know how to get their new PC set up the same way.
They don’t know how to get all of their data moved over, let alone find old
CDs and serial numbers to reinstall all of their applications and apply all the
preferred settings. That’s where Laplink’s PCmover
comes in.
“Giving
someone a new PC as a gift is like giving them a huge, shiny lump of coal if you
don’t include PCmover,” commented Laplink’s Director of Marketing Neil
Minetto. “If consumers want to waste weeks just getting a new PC set up,
that’s their choice. But, they don’t have to do that if they use PCmover,
period.”
The
manual setup process includes:
The
problem of setting up a new PC is perceived so poorly by consumers that many
will put off purchasing one just to avoid the hassle. In a survey sponsored by
Intel, out of 1,200 PC users, 39% felt that migrating from an old PC to a new PC
was enough reason to delay purchasing a new PC. This is a problem that PCmover
solves.
With
PCmover,
the setup is automatic. This includes:
Users
will no longer have to sacrifice hours of time and suffer multiple headaches to
enjoy their new PCs.
“The
move is very quick and automatic so users don’t have to do more than do few
clicks to tell PCmover on what to move,” continued Minetto. “After the
transfer is started, you can just kick your feet up, do some shopping or go to
sleep. When PCmover is done, it can send you an email or a text message alerting
you that it’s finished and you can enjoy your new PC. It’s the fastest way
to set up a new PC, hands down.”
Anyone
wanting their loved ones to enjoy that new PC can get PCmover online at www.laplink.com
or at most major electronics retailers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan.
