Here, Take My Wallet....
I Made It Just For You...

If you have ever been a victim of a robbery you know that afterwards you keep thinking of all the things you should have done.... etc.

Recently I was the victim of a robbery. A woman who seemed extremely disturbed basically jumped into my car, and stole my Cell Phone. Now there is a lot more to this incident than she just jumped into my car.... But this is not what this article is about. This article is about something that would have helped in this particular incident... A throw away wallet.

I now keep a throw away wallet in my car. This is a real wallet, with real stuff in it and about $20.00 in one Dollar Bills. The only thing is, it’s not my real wallet. You know the one with all my money, ID, credit cards, personal information in it.... etc.

This throw away wallet is a cheep wallet I picked up at a swap meet. It has some money in it, business cards, coupons... etc. Typical wallet stuff. Just nothing I care about, and nothing with my real name address, phone number, etc. on it.

Now, hopefully I will never need to use this wallet, but the next time I find myself with a “crazy” person trying to get something of value out of my car, I can throw the wallet out of the car, and hope that me and my belongings, can get away unharmed.

Note, I said hope that I can get away unharmed. Please understand, there is no one thing or way of dealing with any type of attack that is right all the time.

Guns, Mace, Guard Dogs, Alarms, Pepper Spray, Knives, Clubs, Stun Guns.... Nothing can guarantee your safety. But think about the wallet idea. It is an idea that in some circumstances may just work for you. You can also talk to you local police department to see if the have any information on dealing with attacks. Check with your local YMCA “type” organization about “Personal Defense” classes....

But please remember, no one thing is right all the time, and nothing can guarantee your safety, but there are things you can do to up the odds in your favor.
