Talking S-L-O-W------ Can Be Good.

Hi, this is Mike, I’m not in right now, so unless you have been living under a rock, you know what to do at the beep……..

It’s sad to say…. But a lot of people may know what to do… But they don’t know how to do it.

We all get those calls from time to time.  You know the people that think you have speed hearing, and rattle off their name and number so fast you have to replay the message time after time to get the information.  Or the good folks that think just because you once talked to them, you have their phone number, and you keep it with you so you can return their call from were every you are.  Then we have the folks that seem to forget that not every one is in the same area code.  Should I talk about the folks that just totally forget to give their phone number and sometimes their name????  Hey, the list goes on…

I don’t really know why so many people just can’t leave a decent phone message, so for all those folks here goes.

How to leave a phone message:

  1. Wait for the beep.  Don’t start talking till it’s recording.

  2. Give your name first.

  3. Give your reason for calling second.

  4. Give your company name.

  5. Give your telephone number with area code and extension.

  6. Give any other information you feel will help you to get a return call.

  7. Give your name again.  You may want to even spell it.  S-L-O-W-L-Y, so someone can write it down.

  8. Give your phone number again.  S-L-O-W-L-Y, so someone can write it down.

  9. Hang up the phone (yes I have had messages that went on and on as no one hung up the phone).

Remember to speak up and talk clearly.  If you speak to softly, etc… no one will understand your message and you’re going to be waiting a long time for a call back.

Get the message…. Good.
