Microsoft Vista
Or Not By Mike Lipshultz |
![]() |
Hard to believe it has been over one
year since Microsoft brought Vista
out to the public. And the
debate of using Vista or not is still as hot as can be.
Here at BizNet OnLine Magazine I have
been “Playing” with Vista for some time now.
And like every other Editor/Writer that has played with it, I have been
disappointed.
In addition to being disappointed I have
been trying to figure out if and when we would write about it and if we would
recommend it or not. And now I
know. BizNet Online’s official
recommendation is to Get It! And To
Not Get It!
I know, it is getting complicated and we
said we would keep it simple. So
lets get as simple as it gets.
Are you getting all brand new computer
equipment, or extremely “New” (no more then two years old) computer
equipment? And will you be running
the newest versions of software on your computer(s)?
If so, Don’t think twice. Get
Vista. You will be ahead of the
game when Microsoft stops supporting XP (most likely around 2009 or 2010).
Yep it is that simple. And
an update to Vista is coming out any day now, and no it does not fix everything,
but it fixes a lot of the issues. The
only other factor to consider…. I
do not care what anyone tells you. If
you do not have a computer with a Minimum Of 2gig of memory on board.
Forget Vista. You will not
be happy. Vista really needs that
2gig or more to run as it should.
OK, lets talk about XP… First if you
are running anything older then XP… For god’s sake, update to it!
If your computer is so old and decrepit that it can’t run XP, then fill
it with concrete and use it as a boat anchor!
Good God, You can get a used $50.00 computer the can more then handle XP!
Sorry about that…. I took a break and
switched over to decaffe.
If you are happy with your current
computer equipment or are looking to ad “new” computers into the mix with
older computers or older equipment. If
you skip Vista and stay with XP for now, you will be a lot happier.
You see, the frustration most folks have had with Vista is really simple.
They either had less then 2gig of memory or were trying to run Vista with
other older computers or other older computer equipment.
Yep, it is that simple. Now you know.
