BizNet Checks Out The Brother 4 Line Phone System
The Brother Quattro is a unique multi-line, multi-handset
900MHz digital cordless telephone system. Starter system includes 4-Line
Executive Speakerphone, 4-Line Cordless Base Unit, 4-Line Cordless Handset,
4-Line Caller ID Server, Line Cord Manager, and Noise Canceling Headset.
Installation is very easy and the system is expandable up to 4 telephone lines
and 12 telephone extensions.....
That's the way the Brother Web Site says it.
What I say is WOW! I get a starter set for the cost of some stand alone 4
line phones. Hey, this whole
"Kit" cost less then some multi line cordless phones. I know I haven't gotten into the particulars yet, and I'm
talking price, but you need to understand that for under $400.00 bucks (if you
find a good sale price way under), you get a great phone system.
You get a really nice 4 line corded phone with all the
bells and whistles, including a headset jack.
And because Brother supplies the Headset you don't even need to run out
and get one. You also get a 4 line
cordless phone that does everything you could ask for.
Also included is a 4 line cordless base station that can support multiple
handsets. With the included caller
ID unit, Caller ID Information (if supplied by the phone company) is displayed
on all the phones.
The ability to support multiple handsets means that to add
more cordless units you do not have to add more base units.
However if you need to cover a very large area, you can add another base
station in a different location from the first one, and it increases your range,
as when a cordless handset is falling out of range from one unit, it will switch
over to the other one. Much like the way a cell phone switches from Cell Site to
Cell Site.
The system is a 900 MHz Digital Unit.
Being digital, you not only get good range, but really good security and
privacy.
The system I have been testing consists of the starter set,
and two additional cordless handsets... for
a total of four phones… one Executive speakerphone, and three cordless phones.
On opening the box it only took me 15 minutes to get the system up and
running. It would have been faster,
but I'm one of those folks that read Instruction Manuals.
The starter set had everything in it I needed. Great and easy instructions, phone cords, and
adapters/splitters. It's so nice
when you’re setting something up and you don't have to run out and get this or
that to finish the job.
I have found that I get from 3 to 7 days on a cordless
handset before I need to recharge the batteries. The difference is based on how much talking I do.
To recharge a unit, you just put it in the included charger.
A fast charge fully charges the unit in about 2-1/2 hours.
It then flashes to let you know the unit is charged.
Any charger can charge any handset so you don’t have to be concerned
with what handset you put in what charger.
If you spend a lot of time on the phone and don't get near a charger,
extra batteries pop in and out very easily.
Spare batteries can be charged in the standard chargers without being in
the phone.
This system impressed me so much that I bought it.
About the only thing this system does not include is voice
mail. But for the price
"what's to complain about !".
As I said this
system really impressed me. I truly
believe it is one of the best buys to be found in a stand alone 4 line phone
system, with cordless capabilities. Now
don't confuse Low Cost, with low tech or cheaply made.
The system uses TDMA coding on the Cordless end of things.
That's the same technology used by a lot of cell phones. Unlike
traditional digital cell phones, the Brother units had no Digital sound to them.
The sound was just like a corded unit.
With the ability to adjust the volume on the Handsets, all conversations
were loud and clear.

Winners! So, what makes a product a Winner? Lots of things. It can be as
simple as making you or your business look like a Winner or as
complicated as being so new and innovative that it solves long standing
problems. A Winner can even be an old problem solver, or a basic product
that has been around for some time but is now being offered at such a
super price that it can now be a Winner for even the Guy or Gal on a
budget. |
